I have spent the past twenty years working in the world of print and publishing, beginning with offset print production and typesetting and then incorporating ebook conversion (2014) and nonfiction copyediting (2018).
As a freelancer, I’ve worked on projects for the Deutsches Historisches Museum, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Oxford University Press’s Adorno Handbook, ver.di Bildung + Beratung, Capa House Leipzig, Platypus Affiliated Society, Sublation Press, Revol Press, Fernwood Publishing, Nochson e.V. Erfurt, Hochschule Rhein-Waal, Fachhochschule Erfurt’s FPZ, and other institutions, organizations, and publishers.
I don’t provide translation services, but I do frequently collaborate with a small coterie of professional translators working in German, English, and Spanish. Get in touch if you have a text that needs translation.
Sublation Media published my two most recent books: How We Got Here: Melville Plus Nietzsche Divided by the Square Root of (Allan) Bloom Times Žižek (Squared) Equals Bannon and A Christian Existentialist and a Psychoanalytic Atheist Walk into a Trump Rally. Konrad Jandavs was painstakingly involved in every stage of the production of both books, from copyediting the manuscript to typesetting, including page layout for the print edition and the creation of the e-books. Konrad possesses an extremely rare combination of knowledge, expertise, and rigor, on the one hand, and flexibility, patience, and good humor, on the other. I learned a lot from Konrad, who made the whole process collaborative and fun. I plan to hire him to fact-check and proofread and copyedit my forthcoming book, Failure Is the Only Subject.
